Description
The Mellen SS14‑2×12‑557 Split Tube Furnace offers robust, high-temperature performance to 1,400 °C in air, with greater capabilities under inert or vacuum atmospheres. Engineered with Vulcan element support across the tube length, this clamshell-style furnace eliminates sag, ensuring consistent heating during extended cycles .
It accepts a standard 2″ (51 mm) bore with 12″ (305 mm) heated length and can be customized in bore size or tube geometry. Encased in ceramic-fiber insulation and a steel exterior, the SS14 resists high-temperature deformation and remains thermally efficient. The split-body design facilitates fast tube swaps and maintenance.
This unit ships without a PID controller but is compatible with Mellen’s PS-series controllers or equivalent third-party systems for precise control. Built in the USA and designed for reliability, the SS14 is ideal for lab-scale thermal processing, materials research, and vacuum-ready applications requiring exceptional temperature stability.
